![]() You will notices that many stations have a red target (those are missions to kill, patrol, or protect). After you get the mission to follow some pirates and scan their base, deactivate the tracing system for that mission. There is not much fighting in the Terran sectors. there is just one question left: is it correct that the unknown object has 4,5 mil hull points while using the hullmid package or is this a bug.Note: This is only for those that started to play as a Terran. Gonna try it again once I got better marines, but for now it's enough for me to know that it is possible to board it. I boarded it today about a dozen times and the best I got was 36% Hull left plus the jumpdrive. Well, I'm using Marine repairs since the mode came out but it won't change anything during the boarding process(except that your marines get better at engineering due to maintaining your ship). That is why you need to add the Marine repairs mod too! Well, i want to board it not capture it(which is kind of the same thing i know but boarding works at a higher you tried using Ion weapons? I captured quiet a few pirat ships using them, although i didn't try anything bigger than an m6. Dunno about the unknown object as I have not tried. Greypanther wrote:You can capture Khaak ships using Paul's version of the system override software. Wouldn't it be a good idea to add those numbers from the BSD list to the vanilla ship's descriptions aswell? Complements the descriptions in-game.Īssuming that the ships with a external/internal docking port ratio in their descriptions (encyclopedia), is xrm specific ships. To determine the number of internal docking slots, you need to look at the docking value in TShips. external docks is to look at the ship's scene file and count how many nodes have docking dummys - even then its not always obvious as the external dock dummy names are generally not very descriptive of what they do.įor instance, looking at the Titan's scene file, we have two nodes with external docks, but the dummy name is "new_535_ExtDock_dummy" - Not very descriptive of what is allowed to dock there is it?īest thing to do is look at Alkeena's original BSD thread for external docking numbers as they are generally consistent with the XRM. So the only way to determine how many m6/ts/tm etc. External docking ports are controlled by the ship scene file, whereas internal docking numbers are set in TShips. I know it says the total amount of ports in the in both the link on the front page and in game, but not the individual m6 / fighter ports.ĭocking is a strange thing in X3. Had a look in tship files, couldn't find anything in there. Is there a way to tell how many m6/ts/tp/tm contra fighter docking ports a ship has? ![]() ![]() Hlking wrote:Maybe not 100% related to XRM, but I'll give it a shot. Some of the strings have ship listing as M1 to M8 TP TL ect with number ranging from 1 to 5, I guess 5 is the number the hacking device takes to capture for an M2,M1, if so which ones do I change? I had a look in the games script editor and found the strings on captueing several of them can I alter these to make capping easier? I have tried it your way, it doesnt make much difference on the hull`s damage to you capturing it, I took on a small transporter still took me 5 mins to capture it i tried at 50% no joy, 25% no joy 10% no joy, I got the hull down to 1% till I captued it, it`s too hard at the settings its on,at the end of the day to capture below 10% its not worh it compaired to the price to buy both parts of software scrambler and device. You're very unlikely to get a successful hack with 90% hull, but lower than 25% and the odds are stacked in the player's favor. I don't think anyone has complained that it is too hard before.Īs has been said, the higher class of ship you're in, the better your chances of a successful hack.Īlso, the more damaged the hull becomes, the better your chances. Most people find the SOS fairly well balanced now, or too easy. ![]() Modifying it is tricky as I'm lazy and not really a scripter so I haven't annotated my scripts.
